ANALYSIS OF THE PRODUCT AND GEOGRAPHICAL STRUCTURE OF THE REGION'S EXPORTS IN THE CONDITIONS OF TRANSFORMATION OF TRADE FLOWS
Abstract
The article is devoted to the topical issues of evaluation and analysis of the commodity and geographical structure of the region's foreign trade on the example of the Ivano-Frankivsk region. The analysis of the scientific literature devoted to the management of foreign economic activity at the national and regional levels made it possible to identify promising areas of research, the results of which will have both theoretical and practical value. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the factors that determine the product structure and volumes of the largest export items of the region for the period 2000-2024. An approach to setting and solving the problem of analyzing the product structure of the region's exports using econometric methods of analysis is proposed. Models built for the analysis of export volumes by key articles made it possible to monitor the nature of the influence of the most important factors on foreign trade indicators, including with lag effects. The analysis of the geographical structure of commodity exports of the Ivano-Frankivsk region made it possible to monitor the dynamics of changes in the shares of individual countries in the foreign trade turnover of the region. The proposed approach to analyzing the dynamics of changes in the geographical structure of a region’s exports to the five largest importing countries, taking into account the actual values of export volumes in monetary terms, made it possible, using indicators of similarity in forecast dynamics, to compare the dynamics of real export data for the top five industries and the top five countries and to identify the top three export destination countries for each type of product exported by the region. The proposed schemes for the analysis of foreign trade flows in terms of goods and geography allow a qualitatively new approach to solving the problems of forming and increasing the efficiency of the use of the export component of the potential of the region's foreign economic activity. Further development of the chosen direction of research will make it possible to form recommendations regarding the determination of priorities for the formation of the potential of the region's foreign economic activity, taking into account the dynamics of the development of its resource base and the transformation of trade flows.
