IMPACT OF GLOBALIZATION ON THE INNOVATIVE DEVELOPMENT OF UKRAINE
Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of globalization processes and their impact on innovative development, with a special emphasis on the opportunities and problems of implementing the breakthrough strategy in Ukraine. The place of Ukraine in the global innovation environment and its potential for integration into high-tech markets are determined. The purpose of the article is to analyze world trends in the use of breakthrough strategies for the innovative development of Ukrainian industry. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of international experience of the leapfrogging strategy, its impact on the competitiveness of countries and the possibility of adapting successful practices in the domestic context. The paper considers the leapfrogging strategy as a key mechanism for innovative renewal of the Ukrainian economy. The features of this strategy, which involves advanced development through the use of advanced technologies and avoiding traditional stages of gradual modernization, are analyzed. The main factors that contribute to or, conversely, hinder its implementation in Ukraine are identified, including: investment attractiveness, the level of scientific and technological development, the availability of human capital, state support, institutional capacity and legal regulation. It is proven that the leapfrogging strategy is particularly relevant for Ukraine in the context of post-war recovery and the need for rapid adaptation to global economic and technological changes. The challenges facing Ukraine on the path to implementing breakthrough innovations are identified, in particular, the insufficient level of funding for scientific research, the outflow of highly qualified personnel, the low integration of science and business, and the limited presence of Ukrainian technology companies in global markets. Possible ways to overcome them are proposed, including the expansion of startup support programs, the improvement of educational initiatives in the field of STEM education, and the development of grant financing mechanisms for innovative projects. The results obtained may be useful for forming strategic approaches to the post-war economic recovery of Ukraine, the development of policies to stimulate technological breakthroughs and increase the global competitiveness of the national economy.
