FEATURES OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS IN MUSEUM INSTITUTIONS
Abstract
The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the essence of museum management as a component of modern management science and the practice of functioning of socio-cultural institutions. It is substantiated that historically museums were formed as institutions designed to ensure the preservation, multiplication and transfer of material and spiritual cultural heritage to future generations, which determines their multifunctionality and social significance. The main functions of museum institutions are determined, in particular, the collection and preservation of funds, scientific research, educational and educational and economic, which form the basis for building an effective management system. It is studied that museum management is based on the implementation of classical management functions - planning, organization, motivation and control - taking into account industry specifics. The content of the planning function as a defining component of management is revealed, which involves the formation of strategic and tactical goals for the development of the museum, coordination of resources and areas of activity in accordance with the cultural mission. Considerable attention is paid to strategic planning as a tool for ensuring the sustainable development of museum institutions, which includes the formation of a mission, vision, values, and long-term guidelines for activity. The function of the organization is analyzed, which consists in forming an effective organizational structure of the museum, capable of coordinating the activities of various departments and adapting to modern challenges. The feasibility of introducing specialized departments responsible for marketing and innovation activities is substantiated. The peculiarities of staff motivation in the museum sector are highlighted, which combines material and non-material incentives and is aimed at developing the creative potential of employees and increasing the efficiency of their activities. Special attention is paid to the function of control as a tool for ensuring the quality and effectiveness of museum institutions. It is determined that control covers the preservation of museum funds, compliance with professional standards, state regulation, and assessment of the social impact of museums, in particular through the analysis of attendance and the level of audience involvement. It is concluded that effective museum management involves the comprehensive application of management functions, which ensures the sustainable development of museum institutions, increasing their competitiveness and strengthening their role in the modern socio-cultural space.
