THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL BASES FOR IMPLEMENTING THE MODERNISATION CONCEPT IN THE SPATIAL AND INNOVATIVE DEVELOPMENT OF ECONOMIC SYSTEMS

Abstract

The recovery of economic systems based on the concept of modernisation involves a systematic restructuring of the economic space, taking into account contemporary technological, environmental, digital and security challenges. Therefore, the aim of the research is to identify the peculiarities of the spatial development of the national economy in the context of modernisation and recovery in order to strategise the reconstruction processes. The modernisation concept, which synthesises elements of classical economic development theory with innovative and inclusive approaches to management, opens up new prospects for the formation of an effective system capable of responding to the modern challenges of spatial transformation. In order to identify priority areas for reconstruction and justify strategic guidelines for spatial development, an analysis of economic losses and the cost of damage to infrastructure as a result of the war was carried out. Thus, significant direct economic losses associated with the large-scale destruction of transport infrastructure were suffered by roads, bridges, railways, seaports and airports, and indirect losses in the industry have reached global proportions due to the long-term blockade of sea routes and Ukraine's loss of competitive position in world markets, which has led to a decline in freight traffic. The implementation of the modernisation model for the strategic development of the infrastructure sector is critically important, as it involves not only the elimination of damage, but also a fundamental overhaul of the management system, digital transformation, integration with European infrastructure and an increase in the competitiveness of the Ukrainian economy at the global level. The author describes the key strategic guidelines for implementing the concept of modernisation development of the infrastructure sector in the global economic space, combining innovation, sustainability, efficiency and security. The prospects for the spatial recovery of Ukraine's economic infrastructure are based on effective mechanisms for reform, attracting investment, implementing public-private partnerships, introducing innovations and European norms and standards in the development of the transport sector.
