IMPACT OF THE LOGISTICS SECTOR ON THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE REGIONS

Abstract

The article is devoted to the actual problem of studying the directions of influence of the logistics sector on the economic development of Regions. To achieve this goal, modern methods of scientific research were used, in particular: analysis and synthesis, statistical observation, comparative economic analysis, etc. The role of logistics in the modern economy, its promotion of the movement of goods, services and values along the supply chain from the place of production to the place of consumption and vice versa is revealed; the volume of the global logistics market in 2020-2024 is presented. and the forecast for 2025-2033, the structure of total logistics costs and logistics market revenue by region in 2020-2023 identified the top 5 countries in the field of international logistics for 2023, according to the report of the logistics efficiency index (LPI): Singapore leads the Asian market thanks to innovative communication systems, infrastructure and processes; Finland is the leader in the field of international money transfers and the center of technological innovation; Denmark has a well-developed network of highways and railways; Germany is an international leader in logistics technologies and infrastructure quality; the Netherlands has one of the world's largest sea and air transport facilities. The directions of influence of the modern logistics sector on the economic development of regions are substantiated: promotion of international trade and commerce-by streamlining the movement of goods, logistics reduces trade barriers, expands market access and promotes economic growth; increasing productivity and efficiency throughout the supply chain through inventory management, route optimization and expanded systems; developed logistics infrastructure provides support for production and industrial activities; developed logistics networks contribute to regional development, connecting remote territories with national and global markets; reducing export costs and increasing reliability, logistics strengthens the country's position in World Trade; stimulating innovation and technological progress – improves business efficiency, stimulates technological progress and promotes economic growth.
