FINANCIAL DIAGNOSTICS OF HUMAN CAPITAL UTILIZATION EFFICIENCY IN AGRIBUSINESS ENTERPRISES
Abstract
Financial diagnostics of the efficiency of human capital use is an important analytical tool and a prerequisite for developing sound strategies for improving the economic efficiency of the agro-industrial complex in modern conditions. The purpose of the study is to clarify the composition and list of indicators used in the process of financial diagnostics of human capital efficiency, to conduct analytical calculations and to assess the efficiency of human capital on the example of Ukrainian agricultural enterprises. The paper conducts a comparative analysis of modern methodological approaches to assessing the efficiency of human capital use and characterizes the indicators that allow diagnosing various aspects of human capital. The use of financial indicators for financial diagnostics of the efficiency of human resources use is substantiated, and a list of them is provided. Using the financial statements of Ukrainian agro-industrial enterprises for the period of 2021-2023, analytical calculations are carried out and the dynamics of indicators reflecting the participation of human capital in the formation of financial results of enterprises, in particular net income, gross and operating profit, as well as production costs per employee, are assessed. The enterprises with the highest and lowest levels of efficiency of human capital use by all indicators are separately identified and characterized. It has been found that some of the indicators have a negative value, which is due to the unprofitability of the studied enterprises in certain years and indicates that the participation of personnel in creating the net profit of enterprises in these periods was not effective at all. The study identified problematic aspects of the efficiency of human capital use by agricultural enterprises, namely, the reduction of financial results generated by the human capital of enterprises and their transition to the loss-making zone in 2022-2023. The study also identified and characterized a set of external and internal factors that led to the development of the identified trends. Prospects for further research in this area are to deepen and expand the system of diagnostic indicators, which can combine financial and non-financial evaluation criteria, as well as to develop models and strategies that will help agricultural enterprises increase the efficiency of human capital use even in the face of military and economic challenges.
