THE IMPACT OF MULTIMODAL TRANSPORTATION AND INNOVATIONS ON THE LOGISTICS BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT IN THE DIMENSION OF TURBULENCE
Abstract
The study explores the influence of multimodal transport within the logistics business sphere, which is currently navigating challenges like instability and martial law, both significantly impacting the efficiency of international logistics operations. The conflict in Ukraine has undeniably affected multimodal transportation, placing it under considerable strain. Researchers have examined the evolution of innovative digital implementations, including blockchain and AI systems within transportation, specifically analyzing trends forecasted between 2022 and 2025. A key area of focus involves identifying the financial benefits that accrue to logistics businesses when they adopt blockchain technologies to enhance the security and visibility of their supply chains. Multimodal transport is experiencing substantial growth, with annual rates fluctuating between 4% and 10%, which signals dynamic sector expansion. Industry projections estimate the artificial intelligence market within logistics will achieve a valuation of $36 billion by 2030, presenting fresh opportunities for streamlined transport procedures. A dominant 47% share of AI applications within logistics is attributed to machine learning. Modern-day multimodal transport is shifting towards digital integration. Successful implementation relies on aspects like centralized inventory management and modern freight flow systems. AI and the Internet of Things contribute to optimization, creating transparency and control. Furthermore, the increasing demand for multimodal transport is linked to its ability to lessen logistics expenses and accelerate deliveries globally. In the current unstable landscape, Ukraine's economic business environment concerning multimodal logistics demonstrates a low level of cost optimization. Trade conflicts involving escalated duties and tariffs on multimodal freight transport could be a contributing factor, subsequently affecting sectors such as food and mining due to augmented expenses for logistics providers. Research dedicated to logistics, with an emphasis on multimodal transportation, holds great importance and significance within the backdrop of martial law in Ukraine.
