THE ROLE OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN THE FORMATION AND FUNCTIONING OF COMMODITY MARKET SYSTEMS: THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL ASPECT
Abstract
The article provides an in-depth theoretical and methodological reflection on the role of entrepreneurship in the formation and functioning of commodity market ecosystems. Entrepreneurship is defined as a system-forming institution that ensures the organization of production, distribution, exchange, and consumption, creating added value and generating effects for society. Its essence lies in the ability to integrate market participants, model transactional processes, and act as an institutional moderator of innovation. Entrepreneurship is considered a socio-economic phenomenon that combines functions of motivation, organization, and regulation, thereby ensuring resilience and development of market relations. The study emphasizes the historical-evolutionary approach to understanding entrepreneurship, which makes it possible to trace its transformation from primary forms of economic activity to modern institutional models. Scientific positions are systematized regarding the qualifications of entrepreneurship as a driver of progress, a mechanism for implementing trade functions, an indicator of the institutional capacity of the state, and a provider of innovative products. Entrepreneurship is identified as a factor of market actors’ integration, a way of organizing ecosystem interaction, and a conductor of investment processes. Special attention is paid to the specifics of agricultural entrepreneurship, which plays a decisive role in ensuring the livelihood of society and the functioning of commodity market ecosystems. Its activity is linked to natural conditions, seasonal cycles, and production features, forming specific institutional mechanisms. Agricultural entrepreneurship acts not only as an economic factor but also as a social guarantor of stability, since its effectiveness determines food security and quality of life. The conclusion highlights that entrepreneurship is a unique system-forming institution that ensures innovative interaction of productive forces, development of production relations, and the formation of commodity market ecosystems. Its functionality covers all segments of transactional implementation, while methodological comprehension requires further deepening, especially considering sectoral specifics, with particular emphasis on the agrarian sector.
