DETERMINANTS OF ENVIRONMENTAL AND ECONOMIC GROWTH REGULATION IN UKRAINE

Keywords: economic convergence, harmonization, determinants, diffusion regulatory, competition

Abstract

Generalized features of mechanisms for convergence of national policies have been examined. An overview of the mechanisms for convergence of national eco-economic systems has been conducted. An empirical analysis of the dissemination of relevant national plans, programs, and eco-economic policy strategies has been carried out. The levels of implementation of eco-economic policies have been analyzed, and it has been demonstrated that national/federal policies represent the most common level of eco-economic policies applied in countries, indicating a widespread interest and effort on the part of national governments in addressing environmental issues and promoting sustainable development. The dynamics of the number of eco-economic policy instruments have been investigated. The most effective and suitable instruments for achieving specific eco-economic objectives have been identified. A generalized typology of policy convergence mechanisms has been proposed, which includes harmonization, imposition, diffusion, and regulatory competition, playing a significant role in achieving ecologic-economic policy convergence and creating a favorable environment for sustainable development and economic growth. The most important aspects of determinants of regulating environmental and economic growth in Ukraine are environmental regulations: evaluating the effectiveness and enforcement of environmental regulations, such as emissions standards, waste management protocols, and pollution control measures and economic incentives: analyzing the use of economic incentives, like subsidies for clean technologies or carbon pricing mechanisms, to encourage sustainable practices in both businesses and households. International Collaboration: exploring partnerships, collaborations, and initiatives with other countries and international organizations to address global environmental challenges and leverage resources. Resilience and Adaptation: considering strategies to enhance resilience against environmental risks and climate change impacts, ensuring sustainable development despite potential challenges.
