CURRENT STATE AND TRENDS OF DEVELOPMENT OF MEAT MARKET AND MEAT PRODUCTION IN UKRAINE

Abstract

Purpose. Evaluation of the state and defining the main problems of meat market development and meat production, which integrate into the world market, as well as defining the trends of its development in Ukraine. Methodology of research. In the process of research various methods and approaches are used, in particular: monographies, statistic groupings, correlation and regrlis as well as graphic methods. This enabled complex study of the current state of cattle-meat production and definition of the factors of influence on its efficiency. The selection method enabled detailed analysis of some cattle breeding enterprises in various regions; the method of grouping was used to detect the influence of different factors on the level of efficiency of cattle breeding in Ukraine; the method of comparison was used to compare economic phenomena at different time periods to define cause and consequence correlation; the abstract and logical, calculating and evaluative as well as balance methods were used to explain the indices of prospective development of production and consumption of beef and veal. Findings. The recommendations as for the necessity of designing the overall program of meat farming and promoting cattle breeding in farm complexes are given. It also concerns creation of necessary conditions for the development of small farms and private households. Originality. In order to hold competition by native farming producers at the home and foreign markets the essential modernization of the production, launching quality management system and bringing the technological process in conformity with international veterinary and sanitary standards have proved to be urgent to carry out. Practical value. The obtained results of the scientific research can be applied to overcome the crisis situation at the Ukrainian meat production.
