THE DEVELOPMENT OF INBOUND TOURISM IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Abstract

Purpose. The aim of the article is to determine the tendencies for the development of inbound tourism in the United States of America and mechanisms for supporting the tourism industry of the country. Methodology of research. The following methods were used in research process, namely: a comparative analysis – in assessing the dynamics of international tourism revenues by regions of the world; classification method – to identify mechanisms for supporting the tourism industry. Findings. The tendency for the development of inbound tourism in the USA and mechanisms for supporting the tourism industry has been determined. The dynamics of revenues from international tourism has been analyzed. It has been proposed the measures on the development of inbound tourism in the United States of America, among them are: the elimination of visa and customs formalities; improving the safety of tourists stay in the country; enhancement of tourism infrastructure; improvement of work for online services for travel planning. Originality. Comprehensive approach to identify mechanisms for supporting the tourism industry was used in the article. Practical value. The obtained results of research are aimed at the development of inbound tourism in the United States. The USA experience in supporting the tourism industry is possible in a certain extent to apply in Ukraine.
