GLOBAL COMPETITION AND ENTERPRISE COMPETITIVENESS MANAGEMENT IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF NATIONAL ECONOMIES

Abstract

The article investigates the impact of global competition on the development of national economies and substantiates the necessity of forming effective strategic approaches to managing enterprise competitiveness under globalization. The relevance of the study is determined by intensification of competitive pressures in global markets, which leads to structural transformations in economic systems and increases the requirements for efficiency, adaptability, and innovation at both macro- and microeconomic levels. The purpose of the study is to identify key determinants of national and enterprise competitiveness and to justify strategic directions for their enhancement in a globalized environment. The methodological basis of the research includes general scientific methods such as analysis, synthesis, comparison, systematization, and a structural-functional approach, which allowed identifying the interconnections between macroeconomic conditions and enterprise performance. The study determines that the competitiveness of national economies is shaped by a combination of factors, including technological development, innovation capacity, institutional quality, infrastructure development, and the effectiveness of state economic policy. Particular attention is paid to the role of digital transformation and innovation processes as critical drivers of sustainable competitive advantages. The interdependence between macroeconomic stability and enterprise competitiveness is substantiated. It is established that favorable institutional conditions, access to resources, and developed infrastructure significantly enhance business performance and market positioning. At the same time, enterprises act as key agents in strengthening national competitiveness through the implementation of innovative strategies and efficient resource management. The results of the study prove that strategic management of enterprise competitiveness should be based on adaptability to global changes, digitalization of business processes, continuous innovation, and the development of long-term competitive advantages. It is argued that strengthening enterprise competitiveness contributes to the overall economic growth and global positioning of national economies. The practical significance of the research lies in the possibility of applying the obtained results for improving enterprise strategies, enhancing competitiveness at both micro and macro levels, and forming effective economic policies in the context of global competition.
