DIGITAL PLATFORMS AS INFRASTRUCTURE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF STARTUP ECOSYSTEMS
Abstract
The article is devoted to the problem of the functioning of modern start-up ecosystems in the platform economy, where digital tools form a new architecture of innovative infrastructure, contributing to the scaling of innovations and the integration of global markets. The types of platform business models are analysed, outlining their main functions and their role in the start-up ecosystem. It has been determined that, unlike traditional linear models, digital platforms coordinate resources, data, and transactions, i.e., they act as multifunctional infrastructure elements that provide financial, technological, informational, and communication support for innovative entrepreneurship. Digital platforms have been classified according to their role and functional purpose (technological, financial, educational, communication, management), which form a comprehensive digital infrastructure for start-ups. It is reasonable to assume that startup ecosystems are complex socio-economic systems that bring together key partners through digital platforms to provide global access to venture capital, commercialise innovative developments, create startup hubs and technology parks, the formation of entrepreneurial competencies, the scaling of startups, and their integration into international innovation networks. The entities of the start-up ecosystem have been identified and their roles and interactions in the digital platform environment have been defined. Emphasis is placed on obstacles that may limit the effectiveness of platform integration and startup scaling, in particular regulatory, institutional, technological, and human resource barriers that complicate the management of digital platforms, block the introduction of innovations, and reduce the competitiveness of startups in global markets. The need for synergy between state and technological support and the development of intellectual capital has been proven, which will increase the digital maturity of the startup ecosystem. An integrated start-up ecosystem is presented, in which digital platforms serve as a coordination and infrastructure basis for ensuring start-up financing, technology transfer and accelerated innovative development.
