INTERNATIONAL MANAGEMENT WITHIN EU‑INTEGRATION TRANSFORMATIONS: ORGANISATIONAL AND FOREIGN‑ECONOMIC ASPECTS

Keywords: international management, European integration, foreign economic activity, compliance, risk management, competitiveness

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to substantiate the organisational and foreign-economic aspects of the transformation of international management within the system of EU-integration transformations of Ukraine. The study conceptualises international management as an institutionally conditioned system of managerial decisions aimed at aligning internal organisational parameters with the regulatory and market requirements of the European Union. The research is based on the analysis of the EU–Ukraine Association Agreement provisions, DCFTA mechanisms, customs and technical regulation frameworks, as well as sustainability-related requirements influencing market access. The methodological basis includes regulatory analysis, synthesis of contemporary international management and Europeanisation theories, and generalisation of empirical trade data reflecting the dynamics of EU–Ukraine economic interaction. Particular attention is paid to the institutional, organisational and foreign-economic levels of transformation and their causal interdependence. The article proposes an integrated model that links EU regulatory requirements (rules of origin, customs procedures, technical regulations, sustainability standards) with internal managerial responses, including strategic internationalisation choices, compliance function development, risk management systems, cross-functional coordination and digitalisation of procedures. It is argued that effective international management under EU-integration conditions requires translating legal norms into operational routines, documented procedures and control mechanisms embedded in business processes. The practical significance of the study lies in systematising key integration requirement areas and identifying corresponding managerial instruments that enhance regulatory predictability, reduce transaction costs and mitigate institutional risks. The findings demonstrate that the effectiveness of international activity depends on the coherence between organisational subsystems and external regulatory frameworks. It is concluded that integrating EU requirements into strategic and operational management practices strengthens the competitive position of Ukrainian enterprises within the EU market and supports sustainable international development.
