RELEVANT METHODS FOR ASSESSING THE ECONOMIC SECURITY OF AGRICULTURAL ENTERPRISES IN THE CONTEXT OF DIGITALIZATION
Abstract
The article explores current methods for assessing the economic security of agricultural enterprises within the context of the digital transformation of the agricultural sector. The primary objective is to identify the most adaptive and practically applicable approaches for evaluating economic security under conditions of intensified digitalization. The paper analyzes existing methodologies used for calculating economic security indicators and constructing relevant indicator-based systems. Specifically, it examines and compares the following approaches: indicator-based, resource-functional, program-targeted, economic risk-based, econometric modeling, and integrated (composite) approaches. These approaches are evaluated in terms of their methodological foundations, practical applicability, advantages, and limitations in real-world conditions. Special attention is paid to the issue of methodological diversity and the difficulty of comparing results derived from different systems of indicators and evaluation techniques. One of the key aspects addressed is the influence of digitalization on assessment procedures, particularly the potential of digital technologies to automate data collection, enhance data processing, and enable real-time analysis of threats and vulnerabilities. The integration of digital tools makes it possible to process large datasets quickly and conduct more dynamic and comprehensive assessments of economic security. The study highlights the increasing importance of cybersecurity as a fundamental component of the information and technological aspect of economic security. The level of cyber protection directly affects the overall resilience of agricultural enterprises, especially in the context of data-driven systems and connected infrastructure. It is emphasized that the evaluation of this dimension requires the application of specialized technical tools and methods for cybersecurity assessment. Furthermore, the article argues that the most promising approaches to assessing economic security are those built upon integrated and composite evaluation models. Such integrative frameworks are particularly relevant for agricultural enterprises undergoing digital transformation, as they allow for flexibility, scalability, and better alignment with modern technological challenges.
