STRATEGIC PRIORITIES OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR IN THE CONTEXT OF GLOBAL CHALLENGES
Abstract
The article examines the strategic priorities of sustainable development of the agricultural sector in the context of increasing global challenges, among which the key ones are climate transformations, increasing food insecurity, instability of world markets and aggravation of geopolitical risks. The essence of sustainable development of the agricultural sector is revealed through the prism of economic, environmental and social components, focusing on the need to form new approaches to managing agricultural production that can ensure its long-term sustainability. The current state and main trends in the development of the agricultural sector are analyzed, and key factors that hinder its effective functioning under conditions of global uncertainty are identified. Particular attention is paid to the impact of external risks - climatic and geopolitical, as well as internal constraints associated with the degradation of natural resource potential, insufficient innovation and uneven development of rural areas. The need to reorient agricultural policy towards strategic priorities is substantiated, among which the leading place belongs to increasing the economic sustainability of agricultural enterprises, greening production, rational use of natural resources, strengthening food security and active implementation of digital and technological innovations. Conceptual approaches to the formation of strategic guidelines for sustainable development are proposed, which involve the integration of ecosystem thinking, innovative technologies, financial incentives and partnership models of interaction between the state, business and international institutions. The results of the study are aimed at developing scientifically based mechanisms for ensuring the sustainability of the agricultural sector in the face of global challenges, as well as the formation of practical recommendations for improving state agricultural policy and increasing the adaptability of agri-food systems. It is concluded that the implementation of the identified strategic priorities will allow strengthening the competitiveness of the agricultural sector, ensuring its ecological balance and contributing to the achievement of long-term sustainable development goals.
