WORLD ECONOMY, GLOBAL OPPORTUNITIES AND INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

Abstract

Current trends are characterised by a slowdown in global economic growth, a slowdown in international partnerships and an increase in the number of conflicts, including those caused by new tariff agreements. Most projects aimed at ensuring sustainable global development remain partially implemented, and some of them have even regressed. The solution to global problems facing humanity has been ratified by the member states of the United Nations, but is limited by national interests. It has been determined that over a ten-year period, projects have been implemented in various countries and regions of the world, which has made it possible to solve a number of pressing global problems and improve the situation, but at the global level, risks tend to increase. Given their own national interests, not all states fulfilled their obligations, which led to a slowdown and a significant reduction in expectations, especially in the environmental sphere. It is noted that due to the slowdown in the pace of economic development of the world economy, the growth of confrontation between countries in trade policy and geopolitical issues, the level of global threats has significantly increased and the relevance of transforming relations at the global level has grown. There is an urgent need to justify priority areas of international cooperation, increase interest in the implementation of sustainable development projects, and transform relations between participating states on the basis of mutually beneficial and fair partnership, without manipulation or ultimatums. That is why the transformation of international relations must be based on compromise solutions and global partnership. Limiting the influence of geopolitical factors on trade relations and focusing on the interests, needs and capabilities of the parties will ensure mutually beneficial cooperation and opportunities for development, including on the basis of sustainability. The role of the World Trade Organisation should be transformed into a constructive dialogue between member states, rather than ultimatums from one side of a trade dispute. Expanding areas of cooperation and partnership in sustainable development will help to increase trust and contribute to solving global problems facing humanity.
