MOTIVATION MONITORING NEEDS OF THE STAFF OF HOTEL AND RESTAURANT ENTERPRISES

Abstract

The article is devoted to the problems of researching the essence of personnel motivation at modern of hotel and restaurant enterprises, where efficiency, productivity and quality of labor activity depend not only on the qualifications of the staff, but also of their motivation. Managers strive of working with highly motivated team, where its members have the same motivational orientation. The article investigates motivation as the main factor of growth of work efficiency of employees at the enterprise. The main definitions of motivation are analyzed. The author's definition of "motivation of the staff of hotel and restaurant enterprises" is given as a management process, expressed in a set of motivating factors aimed at forming certain motives for the behavior of the employee (team) and in substantiating the method of participation of the employee (team) in the labor process to establish certain activity results and goals enterprises, thereby satisfying their own needs. The article presents an approach to clarifying motivational needs. The test questionnaire of Sheila Ritchie and Peter Martin, 12-factor motivational profile, was chosen to study the motivational profile. Motivational profile according to the method of W. Richie and P. Martin consists of twelve motivators: high earnings and material incentives, comfortable working conditions, structuring labor, social contacts, stable relationships, public recognition, achieving complex goals, influence and power, diversity and stimulation, creativity, self-improvement, interesting, socially useful work. The chart of employee motivational profile has been created to determine factors, that are important for rating of motivation. An approach for the formation of motivational potential is presented, that help to do motivational monitoring. As a result of the study, the value of each factor of the motivational profile, the results of the level of satisfaction of motivational needs were determined. It was found that the most significant needs for high earnings and material incentives. To improve the productivity and quality of work, measures to motivate staff have been proposed.
