THEORETICAL APPROACHES TO THE INTERPRETATION OF THE CONCEPT OF “MARKET” AND “AGRARIAN MARKET”

Abstract

Purpose. The aim of the article is the development of theoretical, methodological provisions of the formation of approaches to the interpretation of the concepts of “market” and “agrarian market”. Methodology of research. The following methods are used in the process of research: comparative analysis – to study the methodological approaches, concepts, developments and proposals of leading domestic and foreign scientists devoted to the peculiarities of the agrarian sector of the economy of Ukraine and countries with different degrees of economic development; logical and semantic – for the deepening of the conceptual apparatus in formulating the main components of the mechanism of state protectionism of the agrarian sector. Findings. It is proved that the general market is considered as a set of interests and actions of real and potential buyers, as well as conditions that characterize the state and change their interests and actions. It is determined that the market is a special system of interaction between economic entities that voluntarily and independently make decisions regarding the allocation and use of limited resources in order to obtain a certain benefit from concluding agreements regarding these resources. Originality. It is substantiated that the food market in its essence predetermines the formation of food chains, within which a number of functions are performed to deliver the product from the field to the final consumer: harvesting, sorting, transportation, storage, processing, financing, redistribution, etc. Practical value. The obtained results of the research confirm that the more substantial and adequate essence of the food market is its understanding as a set of social and economic relations in the field of exchange, on the basis of which the realization of food products and the recognition of the social character of the labor embedded in them.
