THEORETICAL ASPECTS OF ENERGY CONSERVATION IN THE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM OF CONSTRUCTION ENTERPRISES

Abstract

The article examines the theoretical aspects of energy conservation within the management system of construction enterprises. The relevance of the study is due to the high energy intensity of construction processes, increasing energy costs, and the need to ensure sustainable development in modern economic conditions. The paper systematizes existing scientific approaches to the interpretation of the concept of “energy conservation” and identifies its key characteristics based on activity-based, process-oriented, and result-oriented approaches. Particular emphasis is placed on the need to develop a comprehensive theoretical framework for integrating energy conservation into enterprise management systems. The necessity of considering energy conservation not only as a set of measures but as a holistic management object integrated into the enterprise management system is substantiated. Special attention is paid to the industry-specific features of construction enterprises, including project-based organization, high resource intensity, and dependence on external environmental factors, which determine the specifics of energy conservation management. The author proposes refined definitions of the concepts of “energy conservation” and “energy conservation management of a construction enterprise,” which reflect their systemic, continuous, and adaptive nature. It is determined that energy conservation management should be implemented through the basic management functions, including planning, organization, motivation, and control, ensuring feedback and adaptability of managerial decisions. The place and role of energy conservation in the management system of construction enterprises are substantiated, and its integration into strategic, tactical, and operational levels of management is demonstrated. A conceptual structural representation of the interaction between energy management processes, external environment, and performance outcomes is developed. The results of the study contribute to the development of theoretical foundations of energy management and can be used as a basis for further research in the field of improving management approaches to energy conservation in construction enterprises.
