SCIENTIFIC AND METHODOLOGICAL APPROACHES TO THE FORMATION OF THE FINANCIAL AND ECONOMIC POTENTIAL OF AN ENTERPRISE

Abstract

The article generalizes and further develops theoretical approaches to interpreting the essence of the financial and economic potential of an enterprise as a key category for ensuring the stable functioning of domestic industrial entities under conditions of business environment transformation. It is substantiated that the financial and economic potential should be considered not only as a set of available financial resources, but also as the enterprise’s ability to ensure their rational and efficient use, oriented toward achieving strategic goals and maintaining long-term stability. A systemic approach to understanding the financial and economic potential is justified, encompassing interrelated financial and economic components, as well as resources and capabilities for their utilization to achieve target performance outcomes and ensure enterprise competitiveness. The key structural elements of assessing the financial and economic potential are identified, and the necessity of a comprehensive approach to its analysis is emphasized. It is established that effective management of the financial and economic potential requires a systematic study of the impact of internal and external factors in order to timely identify negative trends and substantiate directions for further development. The relevance of the economic assessment of indicators reflecting the dynamics and conditions of the enterprise’s potential formation is highlighted. Existing methodological approaches to the assessment of the financial and economic potential are analyzed, and their limitations are determined, which makes it impossible to single out a universal toolkit. In this regard, the expediency of developing an integrated methodology for comprehensive assessment is substantiated. A distinctive feature of the proposed algorithm for comprehensive evaluation of the financial and economic potential is its universality, ease of application, and relative simplicity of calculations. This provides a reliable analytical basis for making sound managerial decisions aimed at improving enterprise performance and ensuring its timely adaptation to transformations in the business environment. The use of forecasting as a tool for identifying relationships between the components of the potential is proposed, which makes it possible to anticipate possible trends in its development and to form effective management strategies under conditions of uncertainty.
